Community Walker and learner, Social Ecologist, Cultural Refugee

Hello, for the last 4 or 5 years I have been attempting to identify individuals or groups who contribute to the healing of community. To do this I have discovered that one must be able to identify community. Therefore today I classify myself as a community walker/learner. Being alive contributes daily to my experience of life and because of this I am constantly changing, to provide a detailed description of what I do and am interested in at this time would be in-effective. I can therefore only outline at the moment my interests and where I have been.

My interests are varied but are all very much inter-related they include; exploring community, finding comfort lost in lost ness and from there finding a path through the maze of life. The effects love and the relinquishing of power has on individuals, groups and community.

  • Jungian/analytical psychology
  • Relaxation.
  • Mens health.
  • Music, art, theater, love and laughter and their role in healing, learning and community.
  • The role fire plays in community.
  • Aboriginal and individual spirituality and what role nature plays in facilitating this.

Challenging, working to change and re-inventing dominate cultural, organisational ways of living/thinking and being in community. Walking with young people within this culture as they explore other ways of relating and living with themselves, nature and others. Relaxation and its role in connecting with the soul and the heart brain. The role that a positive attitude or subtle change in attitude plays in our/my ambitions, destinations and journey through life.

Where I have been.

  • 17 days in an Istanbul airport living without money and surviving through the generosity of the Turkish people.
  • 5 months camped off the Gibb River Rd in the Kimberley exploring community conflict and utopia.
  • 5 months working as a wine waiter in London.
  • 5 years as as Sales Representative.
  • 4 years as an Unemployed person.
  • 6 years as a University Student.
  • 2 years as a Youth Worker.
  • 3 years as a barpesrson/ cleaner.

Currently I work as a Youth Development Officer for Shoalhaven City Council. I finish my Masters degree in Social Ecology in Oct 03.

In this story so far I am 33 years of age.

I have a web page that I designed some years ago. It also explains where I have been.
